Midvale Police Department
advises that counterfeit money has been showing up at
Midvale businesses. Five businesses are known to this date
as receiving the fake money. The bills have been $1, 5, 10
and 20 dollar bills.
The first thing the victim
businesses have noticed is the feel of the money is not
right. Looking at the bills closer has revealed that some
of the serial numbers are the same.
Ken Davis has a few brochures
from the Secret Service regarding the new counterfeit
money.

On the evening of Jan. 15, 2004 a Midvale
business was the victim of an armed robbery. The business was closed at
the time. The employee was in the office counting the days receipts when a
knock came on the back door. The employee looked out and did not recognize
the person. Even though the employee did not recognize the person knocking
the door was opened and the armed robbery took place.
Businesses and employees: do not ever open the
door after hours to anyone you do not recognize. Speak with them through
the door if necessary. If you're closed do not make the mistake by
attempting to help an after hours customer, they might not be a customer.
